George Keeney was in the battle of Lone Jack,,
Missouri, the battle took place on August 16,
1862. Attached to the Confederate Pension
application is a letter from
J.W. Petty,also a
confederate soldier in the same Company G, as
George was, the letter states "He (George) and I
were a part of the Missouri troops and were in
the battle of Lone Jack, Mo. on 16th of August
1862 where I was wounded, George Keeney was
wouded so he tells me at Helena Ark,"
